WINTER GARDEN, Florida (CBS DFW) – Texas is weeks away from the first legal sale of medical marijuana.
Two years after lawmakers legalized the drug for epilepsy patients, the state has licensed a company operating as Knox Medical to dispense the drug. CBS11 travelled to Winter Garden, Florida, where the company has already broken ground as one of the first medical marijuana dispensaries there. “I never thought in a million years, I’d be growing marijuana,” admits Bruce Knox, the company’s COO and chief cultivation officer. “RoboBee” is an aerial-to-aquatic robot that weighs just six-thousandths of an ounce (175 milligrams). These bots were first reported in 2014 in the journal Bioinspiration and Biomimetics, when — after 12 years of trying — Harvard roboticists finally got the tiny, fly-inspired devices to flutter. Since then, they’ve been adding functions. Now, they’ve made a robot that can swim and fly. “This is the first microrobot capable of repeatedly moving in and through complex environments,” Yufeng Chen, who co-authored a paper describing the new technology while a graduate student at Harvard University. “We designed new mechanisms that allow the vehicle to directly transition from water to air, something that is beyond what nature can achieve in the insect world.” [7 Cool Animal-Inspired Technologies] Read Article: https://www.livescience.com/60816-tiny-adorable-robobee-does-it-all.html Former NBA commissioner David Stern reversed his opinion of medical marijuana use in the NBA.10/25/2017 With the benefits of medical marijuana becoming more widely recognized in the United States -- and recreational marijuana becoming legal in many states -- the NBA is continuing to study the product's effects before changing the league's regulations for its players.
But former commissioner David Stern thinks it's time for a change. Stern sat down with former player Al Harrington, who played 16 years in the league and has since become an advocate and entrepeneur in the medical marijuana business, in a recent documentary on UNINTERRUPTED. Harrington talked to Stern about his tenure as commissioner, his handling of the drug's use among players and how his perception has changed. "I'm now at the point where personally I think it should be removed from the banned list," Stern told Harrington. "You've persuaded me." Healthcare exists to help people maintain this optimal state of health. In 2015, the population of the United States (U.S.) spent an estimated $3.2 trillion on healthcare costs.
However, despite this expenditure, a study by the U.S. National Research Council, published in 2013, showed that Americans die at a younger age and experience more illness and injury than people in other developed countries. Good health is central to handling stress and living a long and active life. Strains like Blueberry, Space Queen and Dogshit are part of our cultural heritage. These cultivars were grown in attics and basements on suburban cul-de-sacs, and guerrilla style on government land. They were revered for their idiosyncratic highs and distinctive flavors. Since full legalization, many of these strains have become relative rarities, eclipsed by more marketable strains in a climate in which everyone from retired basketball players to long-dead reggae singers are peddling product. Just tracking down many of these old-school strains takes a lot of legwork. Rare as they’ve become, these iconic cultivars tell the story of Northwest cannabis, from the early hippie days to the drug war to the medical years up through today. Here’s the history of Northwest weed, as told through the cultivars that defined it. In the space of just a few minutes, we can find recipes for the tastiest pie or learn all about the theory of wave-particle duality.
But more often than not, we have to sift through a vast body of knowledge to get the information we need, and this can take hours rather than minutes. Below you will find a list of the most effective methods for searching Google to help you find the precious material you’re looking for in just a couple of clicks. 1. EITHER THIS OR THAT Sometimes we’re not sure that we’ve correctly remembered the information or the name we need to start our search. But this doesn’t have to be a problem! Simply put in a few potential variations of what you’re looking for, and separate them by typing the “|“ symbol. Instead of this symbol you can also use ”or.“ Then it’s easy enough to choose the result that makes the most sense. In contrast, drinkers buy draft beer and wine as finished products; their only consumer-controlled variable is the temperature at which you drink them.
Why is it that coffee produced by a barista at a cafe always tastes different than the same beans brewed at home? It may be down to their years of training, but more likely it’s their ability to harness the principles of chemistry and physics. I am a materials chemist by day, and many of the physical considerations I apply to other solids apply here. The variables of temperature, water chemistry, particle size distribution, ratio of water to coffee, time and, perhaps most importantly, the quality of the green coffee all play crucial roles in producing a tasty cup. It’s how we control these variables that allows for that cup to be reproducible. “No one knows whether chronic marijuana smoking causes emotional troubles or is a symptom of them…. This dearth of evidence has a number of explanations: serious lingering reactions, if they exist, occur after prolonged use, rarely after a single dose; marijuana has no known medical use, unlike LSD, so scientists have had little reason to study the drug…. Also, marijuana has been under strict legal sanctions … for more than 30 years. – Science News, October 7, 1967″
